Steam never ceases to impress.
I’ve gone on before about the platform somehow representing a nexus of gaming culture, but the truth can not be stressed enough. I remember a time when early access and open beta’s were of note worthy cause. Now they are a dime a dozen…and in Steam’s case, an ever existing reality. This doesn’t really surprise me, as Steam somehow gives back to the gaming community as a whole on an hourly basis. Ignoring your casual or dedicated nature, and just delivering the goods with reckless abandon, the entire service to die hard before giving up in providing quality gaming.
Every once in a while, I have to reevaluate at how surprised I am at what Steam can offer, it would be enough if we just got hundreds of games for dirt cheap, for goodness sake. With all of the community elements, gaming design/mod nooks and crannies, and now focus on user contributed early looks at games, I stand in reevaluation mode once again. Steam has lent itself to the gaming community in ways few other facets or companies ever do, and continues to ascend as a gaming empire for the gamers, by the gamers.
Steam’s jurisdiction the will of gamers.
